Selfless Love

Love is a feeling. It’s not a thing that you can buy elsewhere. It’s like a sprout that can grow from the bottom of your heart. Love can do magic to people. It can tame the ruthless spirits, give hope to the penniless people, and provide strength to those who lack of vigor. But love isn’t present anymore in our hearts; we just see love as the cause of the spark between two people. We see love only inside on the circle of our own families. And mostly, we just see love when we see things that may bring happiness to our own selves. Love, in short, should be selfless. But seeing the current condition of ourselves and of our country, love is indeed selfish now.

Bombings everywhere, gunshot killings, robberies, and inhumane activities; they are all born out of love. They are just a piece of the whole discouraging deeds of the people who seem to forgot that life is the most precious thing that God has given us. It’s like that those people who can do such evil things were not aware about the feeling, about the feeling of love. If they just know what the real meaning of love is, to say that the real meaning of it is to dedicate one’s self not just for another person but also to everybody, then at least they would be hesitant to do such horrible things, right?

But as we see, they all happened. And they will continue to happen anytime and anywhere. We are not safe alone with the word love. We cannot be save even thought we value the lives of everyone that we might encounter on our daily life. Some of us may show a pitch of our selfless love to others, but those others may not be so generous to do the same. There are a lot of things that may hinder anybody from being selfless, but there are also a lot of reasons that may push everybody to cultivate real love on each other’s hearts. So everyone spread the word. The real sword and shield against evil is love. May this wonderful occasion enlighten your hearts! Happy Valentine’s Day!
