A good day to all of you!
It is my pleasure to speak my thoughts infront of you. I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I will be given this such a great chance.
I know, I am but a young student. A student who only knows little of his world, who only knows little of everything.
I am not as big as the president of our beloved country, nor as big as the USA's top man. But even with my little appearance, I can claim that I have such a great heart. A heart which I know will guide me wherever I wish to go to, whichever path I wish to cross to, or whichever ladder I wish to climb up.
My dearest instructors, my fellow co-students, come and listen to me. I always think of what things or what help I can give to my school community. I am never that ambitious to promise big things, but I always dream of giving a part of me to my people. A part of my knowledge, a part of my wisdom I've earned throughout the years.
Let me simplify my goals in this coming school election. Do you still remember what our National Hero, the great Dr. Jose Rizal said? Let me rephrase what he said towards youth. 'The youth, is the hope, of our future.' The youth is the hope of our future? Is it right? Yes, it is, but the youth still needs pampering, and that pampering, is what we call, education.
We, the youth, are the future nation-bearers. Someday, we will carry the nation in our shoulders just like how Atlas carried the world in his. But how can we do that with only the education as our nourishment?
First, go to school and study. It's not hard to study. We have our persevering parents and teachers to help us out in our studies. Next, eliminate the bad effects of technology into the lives of my co-students. There, our party will come to help.
We don't promise, but once seated in the position, we will try our best to spearhead educational programs such as free after-class tutorials. In that way, the time supposedly allotted for computer games and social networkings will be diminished as well as the students will have more time acquiring knowledge fromr our student-tutors.
Aside from that, we will try to launch mini sports-awareness activities by cooperating with our P.E. teachers. In that way, we can help enhance the physical strength of our co-students as well their awareness with regards to sports, may it be traditional games such as our very own piko and tumbang-preso or our adapted sports such as basketball, volleyball and or badminton.
Simple programs, great advocacies. It's how our platforms appeared to be, but as I may remind you, my dear listeners, we don't want to promise big things. I am just a student, we are just students of an elementary school. And let's have this quote, 'big things come in small packages'. We will try to offer you small packages, but these thinsg we might not know, can produce big things. Big and good effects.
I am grateful to my understanding and ever-patient audiences. I don't know if there'll be a next time for me to speak my thoughts again. I am not directly pleading for your votes, or for your trust. But I hope you find it in your hearts our sincerity towards the welfare of our school community. This is the time to act and become the responsible youth of our nation.
If we will join hands together, we will achieve the outcome that we want most.
Again, thank you very much and a good day to all of you!
(I created this speech for someone running for a position in their student government.)
